Uzbekistan is fast becoming Central Asia's rooftop solar leader.
Between January and September 2025, more than 35,000 households received government subsidies for exporting surplus electricity to the grid — a major leap for the nation's Solar Home Program, says the State Tax Committee.
Under the initiative, households generating solar energy receive UZS 1,000 (≈$0.08) per kWh of excess electricity fed into the grid, accelerating residential solar adoption nationwide. Since its launch in April 2023, participation has tripled from 10,826 homes in 2024 — a sign of unstoppable momentum.

The government has disbursed over UZS 153 billion ($12.8 million) to support residential solar systems.
